Draft Horse Program
A Tradition since 1988, The Surry Rides drawn by the gentlest of giants have been a beloved feature of the Shiawassee County Fair for families. Started by Roger Reed and Jack Crambell the tradition continues to this day. Enjoy a trip around the grounds and see the Fair while being pulled by local Draft Horse teams. Then come watch them at night at the Grandstands as these giants show off great feats of Strength and Agility.
Draft Horse Action
There is no limit to what you can see at the Shiawassee County Fair! Our draft horse program provides you the chance to experience these gentle giants in action.
The Surreys run daily for the entire week of fair. Rides are free for visitors to the fair. Visitors can board the wagon at Parking Lot B, Outside the Poultry Barn, and the Grandstand. See Program Guide for route or click on the map.
