SCAS NEWS

Camping lottery for 2024 is the first Saturday of June. JUNE 1, 2024. Doors open at 8am and Lottery begins PROMPTLY 9am. Please refer to the camping lottery rules.

ALL exhibitors are encouraged to download the ShoWorks Passport. Here you will be able to track your entries, receive updates on placings and once you are registered you may use this login year to year with entries by simply selecting log in with passport option when entries begin. Much more to come in the future with ShoWorks Passport for our exhibitors. User friendly and very helpful on show days to have your classes at your finger tips! Download ShoWorks Passport here.

Queen Applications now available. These are Due May 31st to the fair office by 5 pm.

ATTENTION MARKET GOAT EXHIBITORS!

Youth exhibitors who plan to enter a market goat at the Shiawassee County Fair must have the goat in their possession by May 1, 2024.

Mandatory tagging will take place on Saturday May 4, 2024 from 9 am to 11 am at the Shiawassee County Fairground Small Animal Arena. Bring your owner statement of transfer or premise letter to verify scrapie tag which must be in goat’s ear. All goat’s must be tagged to show at the fair. Goats will also be weighed and exhibitors provided samples of buyers’ letters.

NEW FOR 2024!!
Beef Department Rate of Gain Contest!

Contest is open to all beef/dairy market exhibitors, who completed the early registration by February 15. You are allowed to weigh in a maximum of three market animals following the same rules as the early beef/dairy market registration. Saturday April 6th from 8 am to 12 noon is weigh in date at the fairgrounds. Rate of gain calculations will be calculated after weighing in on Saturday August 3rd at the fair. The top two beef market rate of gain champions and the top two dairy market rate of gain champions will be recognized during their market shows on Tuesday August 6th of fair week. First place in each division will receive a banner and $500 in gift certificates. Second place in each division will receive a banner, $250 in gift certificates and show supplies.
